Veterans Day is a nationally recognized Holiday in the United States. It honors our men and women who have served in the United States Military. The Holiday is celebrated each year on November 11th in both the United States and Great Britain (although the Great Britain version is called ‘Armistice Day’ in special observance of the treaty that ended World War I in 1918).
Veterans Day was originally proclaimed a National Holiday by our 28th President Woodrow Wilson. In 1938, Congress adopted a law that made Veterans Day a Federal Government Holiday.
The typical Veterans Day celebration inculdes parades, speeches, and special ceremonies like the one held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetary in Arlington, Virginia. Tulsa Divorce Attorneys
